“Aaron was punctual, communicated well and was easy to be around. As a solo traveller with only six to eight hours in transit I felt comfortable and safe, and a private tour was clearly the right call.”

From $115 per person
A card with your name on it at the Tourist Service Center counter, Terminal 1 or Terminal 2.
A published route exists, and the listing sells the hours rather than the stops.
Dihua Street, Longshan Temple, the memorial hall and Taipei 101, in that order.
Nothing to carry between stops, and nothing to leave at a locker.
From $115 per person, with parking, tolls and insurance included.
Most layover tours hand you a route. This one hands you six hours and a driver-guide, and the route is a suggestion you are free to overwrite. That is why it carries eleven times more reviews than any other airport-pickup product compared here, and why so many of those reviews describe a day that was rebuilt in the car.
The published run is a good one if you want it: forty minutes on Dihua Street, forty at Longshan Temple, fifty at Chiang Kai-shek Memorial Hall and an hour at Taipei 101. Travellers describe asking for temples and food instead, or art and markets, and getting it. One asked to be taken somewhere Michelin had listed and was.
Ten minutes at each airport end, 50 minutes of Freeway 1 in each direction, and three hours ten across the four stops. That is the whole of it, and it is the operator's own timing rather than an estimate.
| Segment | Time | What happens |
|---|---|---|
| Terminal, arrival | 10 minutes | The meet at the Tourist Service Center counter |
| Freeway 1, inbound | 50 minutes | Taoyuan to the first stop |
| Dihua Street | 40 minutes | Shophouses, dried goods, herbal medicine |
| Longshan Temple | 40 minutes | The 1738 temple in old Bangka |
| Chiang Kai-shek Memorial Hall | 50 minutes | Free entry; guard change on the hour |
| Taipei 101 | 1 hour | The plaza, or the observatory if you buy the ticket |
| Freeway 1, outbound | 50 minutes | Back to your terminal |
Whichever you pick, every taipei airport layover tour compared here returns you to the same terminal you left.
At the Tourist Service Center counter in the Arrival Hall of Terminal 1 or Terminal 2 at Taiwan Taoyuan International Airport, whichever your flight uses. The card they hold carries the operator's name and the lead traveller's name, so there is nothing to look up and nobody to phone.
On the return you are dropped at departures at the same airport, or at a hotel nearby if that is what your onward flight needs. Aim to be back three hours before departure; the full arithmetic is on Taipei Layover timing rules.

“Caleb was flexible about what we wanted to see and took us to places off the standard list. We had a nine-and-a-half-hour layover and we are glad we left the terminal.”
Ryan C. · August 2026
“An eight-hour layover and a six-hour tour. We told James we wanted art, temples and local food, and he rebuilt the day around that.”
Jelle L. · August 2026
“Our flight came in an hour late and the driver was still waiting. He showed us everything we had asked for, suggested a couple of things we had not, and still got us back on time.”
Damon H. · May 2026
“Jack was photographer, historian and guide at once. I saw the historic landmarks, ate somewhere Michelin had listed, and even got a little Mandarin practice in.”
Anita L. · May 2026
“Junior fitted a great deal into a short window, spoke clear English and was always waiting when we came back out. The best short tour I could have hoped for.”
Karena T. · July 2026
“We enjoyed our eight-hour layover far more than we expected to. Ben was helpful and informative and made the time in the city memorable.”
